1. Choose the League of Order faction in the beginning for its resource gathering speed bonus. Also, the starter hero, Waldyr, is versatile and useful across different aspects of the game
2. Prioritize spending Gems on:
- Acquiring the second builder.
- Unlocking Honorary Membership level 8 for additional research queue and daily legendary hero tokens.
- Participating in Lucky Spin Events.
- Utilizing the Goblin Merchant for speedups and small purchases.
- Investing in End of Season Artifact Draws.
3. Use Speedups wisely:
- Upgrade the Alliance Center first to reduce building and researching time.
- Save speedups for research and troop training buildings, especially if you have VIP 8.
- Avoid using speedups on other buildings until Hall levels 16 to 17 or 21 to 22.
- Focus on upgrading the Economy technology tree, particularly Architecture 2 and Scholarship 2.
- Save speedups for T4 troops during wars.
4. Efficient Resource Gathering:
- Level hero once so they start gaining xp from nodes
- Deploy all gatherers to farm resources and gain hero experience simultaneously.
- Target resource nodes within Alliance territory for a gathering speed bonus.
- Train Warhorses for efficient resource loading.
- Prioritize farming Mana initially but focus more on other resources for better hero experience.
5. Hero Selection:
- As a free-to-play player, focus on Epic Heroes initially.
- Notable Epic Heroes include Gwanwyn, Eliana, Waldyr, and Kregg.
- Maximize Epic Heroes using tokens obtained from tasks and events.
6. Policies:
- Policies reset each season; avoid spending Gems on them.
- Prioritize Free Healing upgrades.
- Focus on farming policies initially, then transition to Military Expansion for stronger Legions.
By following these simplified steps, you can progress effectively as a free-to-play or low-spender player in Call of Dragons.
